John has been repeatedly recognized as a Louisiana “Super Lawyer” by SuperLawyers.com and as a “Top Attorney” by SB Magazine. He is a former member of the Shreveport City Council and served as Chairman of the City Council’s Audit and Finance Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Bar Foundation, a master of the bench of the Harry V. Booth and Judge Henry A. Politz Inn of Court, a past governor-at-large for Louisiana of the Bar Association of the Federal Fifth Circuit, and a past president of the Shreveport Bar Foundation.

John represents individuals and business in a wide range of legal matters. Representative matters include defense of a company in an arbitration with a former company executive before the American Arbitration Association; defense of an employee charged with mishandling explosive materials at a military installation; prosecution of first-party insurance claims against an insurance company; and community property partitions involving millions of dollars of assets.

John earned his law degree from the University of Virginia and served as a law clerk to United States Circuit Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod on the federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He and his wife, Emily, have been married for more than two decades, have four children, and are active members of the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans. Heidi Martin

Heidi is an associate with Nickelson Law PLLC. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and earned her law degree from the Paul M. Hebert LSU Law Center. She served as a law clerk to Judge Michael A. Pitman and Judge Katherine C. Dorroh of the First Judicial District Court of the First Judicial District Court of Caddo Parish and to Judge John C. Davidson of the Ninth Judicial District Court of Rapides Parish.

Heidi is a member of the Shreveport Bar Association Executive Council, the treasurer of the Women’s Section of the Shreveport Bar Association, a member of the Harry V. Booth and Judge Henry A. Politz Inn of Court, and the treasurer of the Parents Association of the St. John Berchmans Cathedral School. Heidi provides pro bono services to children in Caddo Parish Juvenile Court and volunteers with the Shreveport Bar Foundation Pro Bono Project.
